Blaze is a basic ability for Phoenix.

Description[]

EQUIP a flame wall. FIRE to create a line of flame that moves forward, passing through the world and creating a wall of fire that blocks vision and damages players passing through it. HOLD FIRE to bend the wall in the direction of your crosshair.
— In-game description

Blaze is a Vision Blocker ability that Phoenix must equip before casting. On cast, he will send forward a missile that will pass through terrain. As it travels, it leaves a path on the ground directly below it. Phoenix can control the direction and altitude of the missile by using Hold Fire and moving his crosshair towards the intended direction. Phoenix cannot use Hold Fire afterwards if he initially cast the ability without using Hold Fire.

Once the missile reaches its maximum distance, a wall of flame will start to rise from Phoenix's location, spreading across the length of the path until it reaches its end. Agents will begin to take damage as soon as the flame wall reaches an area they are standing on. The wall will always deal damage to agents at the same rate, but agents will take more total damage over the ability's full duration if they are closer to Phoenix's cast location compared to a player who was further away on cast. Once the wall reaches its maximum length, it will continue damaging any player it touches until it expires, at which point the whole wall will rapidly fall.

Phoenix is affected by Heating Up if he comes into contact with the wall.

Heating Up[]

Main article: Passive Effects → Heating Up
