The BP-9 Classic is a Sidearm in VALORANT.

Summary

The Classic is the pistol that all players receive upon spawning.

Compared to most other weapons, the Classic does a meager amount of damage. However, its nonexistent price tag makes it effective for rounds in which the player or team wishes to save credits for later rounds.

Due to its low damage output, the Classic requires more shots than most in order to score a kill. Typically, a player with the Classic must hit two or three shots to the head, 7 to the body, or 8 to the legs.

The Classic has an alternate fire (right-click default). It fires a three-shot burst with moderate spread. Due to this unique mechanic, the Classic is fairly versatile and is viable at both short and medium ranges. This flexibility gives it an edge over other secondary weapons, which typically are only suited for a particular firing range. For example, the Shorty and Frenzy are viable almost exclusively at short ranges, while the Ghost and Sheriff are typically used for mid-range combat.

Players using the Classic must use the alternate fire with caution, as it uses up ammunition at an elevated rate compared to the weapon's primary fire.

  • The Classic's design seems to be based on the Beretta PX4 Storm, with the angled slide bevel and partially skeletonized hammer being unique characteristics shared by both pistol.
  • The Classic and the Spectre both deal the same amounts of damage.
