Guiding Light is a signature ability for Skye.

Description[]

EQUIP a hawk trinket. FIRE to send it forward. HOLD FIRE to guide the hawk in the direction of your crosshair. RE-USE while the hawk is in flight to transform it into a flash. The flash reaches max potency after a short duration during the hawk's flight.
— In-game description

Guiding Light is primarily a Blind ability that Skye must equip before casting. On cast, she will send a hawk forward as a missile that can be obstructed by terrain. Skye can control the direction and altitude of the hawk by using Hold Fire and moving her crosshair towards the intended direction. Skye cannot use Hold Fire afterwards if she initially cast the ability without using Hold Fire.

Upon reactivation, or after reaching the end of its duration, the hawk will transform into a flash that detonates after a very brief windup. Any agent or object in line of sight of the detonation will then be flashed. If an enemy agent is affected by the flash, Guiding Light will also give off a distinct audio cue and Skye will alert the team. In addition to standard flash functionality, the maximum duration of the flash is also dependent on how long the hawk was in flight for before it was activated; when cast immediately, the flash only has a short maximum duration but this increases the longer the hawk flies for, reaching its largest duration after a short time in flight. The hawk will receive an orange aura and give off an audio cue when it reaches the point when its detonation will inflict the largest flash duration.
