Say hello to Max Bot. The perfect blend of tactics and firepower. Now you can train against, uh, well... you!
— Killjoy

Max Bot (or Maxbot) is a modified robot created by Killjoy and Raze. Originally a cleaning bot at VALORANT Protocol headquarters, he was modified and augmented to give the organization's agents a better challenge in the base's training room. Now named "Max Bot", he proved to be much more of a difficult opponent than anticipated, easily defeating any agents that went up against him, and was only finally defeated himself when the agents went up against him as one big team.

After his defeat, Max Bot returned to cleaning duties at HQ, but he went on to begin displaying an increased amount of awareness and independence, before enacting his revenge by taking over the Protocol's teleporter and sending agents into simulated environments to fight for their lives.

History[]

Warm Up Cleaning Bot

Max Bot was originally a cleaning bot at VALORANT HQ

During a discussion between VALORANT Protocol agents one day at HQ about how easy their current training activities were, KAY/O suggested to do something where the bots would shoot back. Attention soon turned to a cleaning bot that was active in the common room, giving Killjoy and Raze an idea. The two got to work modifying and augmenting the bot to have increased size and utilize weapons and abilities. Being given the name "Max Bot" on completion, he had become the perfect blend of tactics and firepower, able to replicate the abilities of the agents he went up against.[2]

Warm Up Max Bot Defeat

The Protocol agents finally defeat Max Bot

Expectations on how the agents would fare against him were initially mixed, but it soon became clear the agents had very much underestimated just how hard of a challenge Max Bot would be. He was able to defeat any individual or duo that went up against him, using a combination of weapons, agent abilities, and even his own unique tricks such as the ability to override the programming of the agents' own bots (such as Killjoy's turret and Raze's Boom Bot) and turn them against their creators. Only after it was suggested that a tactic involving sacrifice would be needed did the agents finally form one big team, where they were finally able to gain a victory over Max Bot.[2]

The Games Begin Max Bot

Max Bot activates his revenge program

After his first defeat, Max Bot was kept active and stored in a lab at HQ, returning to cleaning duties. Later on however, Max Bot developed the ability to activate on his own and deviate from his usual pathing. He also began to observe the agents' training and routines (including those of Omen's during the middle of the night, which greatly unsettled the agent), and he would also go missing. Eventually, Max Bot was able to gain access to the Protocol's portal systems and data files in order to initiate a revenge program, luring agents into the HQ's teleporter to make them fight in simulated environments of Max Bot's making, which he referred to as the "Danger Dome".[3][4]
