Raze loves explosives. With her blunt-force-trauma playstyle, she excels at flushing entrenched enemies and clearing tight spaces with a generous dose of "boom"
Raze's playstyle is very aggressive compared to many of the other agents in VALORANT, as most of her abilities are focused on mobility and damage instead of intel gathering or support. She is one of the few agents where most of her abilities are primarily meant to deal damage, namely Paint Shells and Showstopper, and has commonly been criticized by the community for said abilities.
Description: Equip a Boom Bot. Fire to deploy the bot, causing it to travel in a straight line on the ground, bouncing off walls. The Boom Bot will lock on to any enemies in its frontal cone and chase them, exploding for heavy damage if it reaches them. The Boom Bot can be destroyed by enemies.
Description: Instantly throw a Blast Pack that will stick to surfaces. Re-use to detonate, damaging and knocking back anything hit. Blast Pack will not damage Raze, but she can still suffer fall damage.
Description: Equip a single-use Rocket Launcher and light its fuse. Fire to launch a rocket, which travels in a straight line and explodes on contact, dealing high damage to enemies caught in its blast radius.
Initial damage reduced to 15 with a .2 meter inner radius, falling off to 5 minimum damage
Once the satchel lands, it arms after .5 seconds, increasing it’s max damage to 50
Shooting the blast pack causes it to detonate, dealing its current damage amount
Satchel no longer does damage to allies
Raze’s Blast Pack has been dishing out damage without giving enemies much counterplay. This change should help make it very clear when Blast Pack’s damage poses a threat while maintaining the utility aspects of the Blast Pack that players have begun to master. The blast pack now does not ‘fizzle’ when shot and will still do damage, meaning it should still be approached carefully if in lethal range.
With the lethality of Raze’s Showstopper, we wanted to make some changes that will provide enemies more time to plan and acquire Raze when hearing “Fire in the Hole!” Additionally, we have adjusted her VFX so that players are able to notice Raze as she fires, increasing their ability to shoot a Raze that takes riskier plays
Damage decreased 75 >>> 50
Damage to objects now consistently does 600
Raze’s Blast Pack has been hitting players a bit too hard, able to kill a fully armored enemy in certain situations. We want to reduce this ability’s efficacy at damaging players while sharpening its ability at clearing enemy utility and obstacles.
Showstopper ultimate Cost changed from 6 to 7 Ult points
Raze’s ultimate is one of the most impactful in the game and useful in almost any situation. As a result, it is being used a bit too often. So we’re upping the cost by 1, which should help reduce how often players have to face her Showstopper.
Blast Pack maximum damage radius reduced 2 >>> 1 meters
The Blast Pack has proven to be quite strong, especially when chained back-to-back. By reducing the inner maximum damage radius, we hope to reduce the average damage output of this ability while still keeping it powerful.
